Product Requirements
To attract customers to come to Sim Lim Square to purchase their computer parts, the management has decided to purchase software with the following description from your company.
This software will be used by our customers to search online for the cheapest price of computer items sold by the various vendors in Sim Lim Square. In the website, the customer will be able to look at the prices of the various computer items. The site must also be able to search for the shop selling a particular item at the lowest price. The customer may also select different computer items, and the system should be able to select the lowest prices for all items by selecting from the various shops.
Participating shops will be allowed free advertising space on the website. The aim is to promote competition among the vendors, and thus benefit consumers. Ultimately, this will make Sim Lim Square a one-stop computer purchase center.

Product Refinement
This software will be used by our customers to search online for the cheapest price of computer items sold by the various vendors in Sim Lim Square. In the website, the customer will be able to look at the prices of the various computer items. The site must also be able to search for the shop selling a particular item at the lowest price. The customer may also select different computer items, and the system should be able to select the lowest prices for all items by selecting from the various shops.
The participating shops will send their price lists to the management who will have a system administrator consolidating and updating the database containing the shops and item particulars. As the job of the system administrator is just to update the database, he/she will have little or no knowledge in database management systems. Thus the user interface must be as simple and intuitive as possible. The database must be able to support add, delete, modify and search of shop and item particulars. Each shop will be assigned an ID. Each item will also have an ID.
